Howard County commissioners voted unanimously Monday in favor of an inter-local agreement with the city to lend financial support to the Big Spring State Park, opting to go from a previously approved three-year renewal schedule to revisit the matter annually.
Both local governments have agreed to chip in $10,000 each — to be paid to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department — to help fund the continued operation of the state park, which was targeted for closure by the state earlier this year.

â€˘ JESSE MARTINEZ, 43, of 107 Becker Rd., was arrested Monday on a charge of shoplifting (theft) â€“ more than $50 and less than $500.
