Water on city council's mind

The agenda for Tuesday's meeting of the Big Spring City Council is rather brief, with final approval of a resolution supporting the Colorado River Municipal Water District's ongoing efforts to educate the public on the need for water conservation.

Talks between CRMWD and its member cities — including Big Spring — have been ongoing for some time now, centering around water conservation heading into the coming summer, when water usage in the Crossroads area is expected to be at its highest point.

The Big Spring Police Department reported the following activity between 9 a.m. Saturday and 7 a.m. today:
• ALEX FRANKLIN MINTER, 18, of 2509 Gunter, was arrested Saturday on a warrant for criminal mischief.
• TONY MOJICA CASTELLANO, 37, of 1503 S. Scurry, was arrested Saturday on a charge of driving while license suspended/invalid – no insurance.
• MARTHA FINA LOPEZ, 39, of 411 N. Scurry, was arrested Saturday on a charge of public intoxication.
• BRYAN JOSEPH GILES, 27, of 1300 S. Johnson, was arrested Saturday on a charge of public intoxication.
