A 66-year-old Big Spring man was arrested Monday by the Big Spring Police Department and charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child.
Telesford Rentiria Galan was arrested Monday at a home in the 700 block of E. 17th Street at approximately 4 p.m., according to BSPD records.
According to Sgt. Tony Everett, public information officer for the BSPD, the offense was reported to police officials Monday, but it's currently unclear how long the alleged sexual abuse has been going on.
Officials with the city of Big Spring and Howard County unveiled proposed plans for a joint law enforcement center Monday night, promising a long-term savings of a minimum of $150,000 a year to local taxpayers if the plan is adopted by both governments.
Saturday, 11 Big Spring High School Art students competed in the Visual Arts Scholastic Event held at Odessa Permian High School. All 11 students received regional medals for their artworks.
Out of 265 entries in Regional 18, only 12 were chosen to advance to state. Though none were from Big Spring, Art Instructor Judy Tereletsky said she was extremely proud of her students' accomplishments.
The Big Spring Police Department reported the following activity between 7 a.m. Monday and 7 a.m. today:
â€¢ AMANDA LYNN MORROW, 32, of 8900 S. Service Rd. in Sand Springs, was arrested Monday on a charge of driving while license invalid with a previous conviction or suspension.
â€¢ REBECCA LYNN COMSTOCK, 27, address not provided, was arrested Monday on Warrants for public intoxication and failure to appear.
â€¢ NICKOLAS VANCE JONES, 18, of 304 Circle, was arrested Monday on a warrant from another agency.
