Got a scorchin' tattoo? How about a really hot bike? You know, a motorcycle that makes other motorcycle turn their heads?
Don't worry if you don't. Tena & Company is inviting everyone to a survivors of domestic violence benefit Saturday, April 2. Funds raised during the day-long event will benefit domestic violence victims and organizations such as Victim Services, Bikers Against Child Abuse and others.
The event will take place at Tena & Company, located at 1806 N. Lamesa Highway (U.S. Highway 87). Doors open at 10 a.m. and a “first bike out” fun run begins at noon.
Money generated from the Fifth Annual Cars, Stars and Handlebars fund-raiser will assist Big Spring State Hospital customers and their families with the construction of a Family Visitation Center.
Customers and their families don’t have an ideal area set aside for quality visitation, said Billie Christie director of community relations.
The Big Spring Police Department reported the following activity between 9 a.m. Saturday and 7 a.m. today:
• KENDRA MICHELLE MATTHEWS, 29, of 3701 Connally St., was arrested Saturday on warrants for possession of alcohol by a minor and failure to appear.
• JEREMY STEVEN THROWER, 27, of 206 Circle, was arrested Saturday on warrants for driving without being secured by safety belt and failure to maintain financial responsibility.
• ISREAL ALVAREZ, 25, of 1504 Chickasaw, was arrested Saturday on a warrant from another agency.
