In a continued effort to meet the 20 percent reduction in water deliveries, the city of Big Spring announced Friday it has implemented additional restrictions on water use.
The Big Spring City Council gave the go-ahead for additional restrictions Tuesday on the heels of a presentation by John Grant, general manager of the Colorado River Municipal Water District, who explained water levels in local reservoirs have reached critically low levels with no real relief in sight.
arents of students new to Big Spring Independent School District can register their children July 27 and 28 at the high school library.
Registration times will be 7 a.m.-5:30 p.m. July 27 and 7 a.m.-1 p.m. July 28.
The registration is for students enrolling in pre-kindergarten and kindergarten classes, as well as any student between the ages of 5 and 21 who resides within the district but was not enrolled in BSISD on May 27, said Vickie Cheyne, PEIMS Coordinator for the district.

â€˘ MARIO ILDEFONSO SALAZAR, 21, 1503 Wood, was arrested on a charge of public intoxication.
â€˘ CHRISTOPHER RYAN COLEGROVE, 19, 1425 E. Sixth No. 26, was arrested on a charge of theft from the elderly and two other-agency warrants.
â€˘ JAMES BRIAN FIVEASH, 54, San Angelo, was arrested on a charge of public intoxication.
â€˘ FRANKIE WADE ORTEGA, 23, Beaumont, was arrested on charges of failure to identify/false or fictitious information and resisting arrest, search or transportation.
