The Big Spring Police Department reported the following activity between 7 a.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. today:
â€˘ DEBORAH KAY CANTU, 45, of 419 Dallas St. Apt. B, was arrested Wednesday on a charge of public intoxication.
â€˘ DAMIAN ISMAEL LUJAN, 27, of 1014 Nolan, was arrested Wednesday on a warrant from another agency.
â€˘ ELEUTERIO TORRES PADRON, 62, of 509 N. Goliad, was arrested Wednesday on a charge of public intoxication.
Howard County District Attorney Hardy Wilkerson will seek a fifth term in office in 2012, as he announced this week he has filed the necessary paperwork with state officials to run for re-election.
Wilkerson, who has represented the 118th Judicial District for nearly 15 years, said the decision to run for re-election — which he will do on the Republican ticket — was a practical one for him.
Healthy Woman is joining Uptown Salon and Day Spa in a special event for local ladies.
From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Girls Night Out will take place at 600 Runnels.
“Women are always so busy taking care of others and sometimes they forget to take care of the most important person, themselves,” said Kim Howell, Scenic Mountain Medical Center marketing director. “This is an opportunity for them to stop in for a few minutes and enjoy some laughter, fellowship and some good treats.”

â€˘ JESSICA FAYE BROOKS, 24, of Lubbock, was arrested Tuesday on warrants for failure to maintain financial responsibility, driving while license invalid and a warrant from another agency.
â€˘ JOHN HENRY SCHENCK, 36, of 1513 Wood, was arrested Tuesday on charges of driving while license suspended/invalid â€“ no insurance and failure to maintain financial responsibility (two counts).
â€˘ BURGLARY OF A VEHICLE was reported in the 600 block of Highland Drive.
Three Howard County officials will seek re-election on the Republican ticket Monday morning, as filing in this year's political party primaries got under way.
Sheriff Stan Parker, Precinct 3 Commissioner Jimmie Long and Justice of the Peace Precinct 1 Place 1 Bennie Green all filed to run for re-election with Republican Party Chairman Craig Bailey Monday morning, the first day for political hopefuls to throw their hats in the ring for 2012.

â€˘ DAVID FRANCO, 33, of 1407 E. 18th St., was arrested Monday on charges of disorderly conduct â€“ language (two counts).
â€˘ FABIAN MIGUEL GALAN, 26, of 1002 N. Gregg St., was arrested Monday on warrants for no driver's license â€“ when unlicensed and criminal mischief.
A vacant house trailer was consumed in a Saturday afternoon blaze near the intersection of Highway 87 and FM 700.
No injuries were reported in the blaze, which was reported to the Howard County Volunteer Fire Department at about 4:45 p.m. Saturday.
â€śBy the time the first unit arrived on scene, the trailer was fully engulfed (by the fire),â€ť HCVFD Chief Tommy Sullivan.
Officials with the Big Spring VA Medical Center are inviting the community to help kick off the Christmas season Friday, Dec. 2, as the local healthcare provider will hold its annual Holiday Lighting Ceremony.
Daniel L. Marsh, medical center director for the West Texas VA Health Care System, assisted by area children, will throw the switch on the VA Medical Center's holiday lights, according to VA officials.
