Jaramillo appeals robbery conviction

A Big Spring man sentenced to 60 years in prison for his part in the June 2010 home invasion of a local family submitted his case for appeal to the state's 11th District Court of Appeals last week.

Felix Lee Jaramillo, 33, was found guilty of aggravated robbery and assessed 60 years in a state prison and a $10,000 fine following the one-day trial in 118th District Court n September 2010.

Ector County kidnapping suspect arrested here

A suspect believed to be involved in the kidnapping of a 4-year-old child in Ector County was arrested early today in Howard County, according to local law enforcement officials.

Martin Silguero, 48, was arrested on charges of kidnapping and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle at the TA truck stop, located near the intersection of Interstate Highway 20 and N. Highway 87. Also taken into custody with Silguero was 30-year-old Veronica Rios, who was arrested on warrants unrelated to the kidnapping, according to Howard County Sheriff Stan Parker.

The Big Spring Police Department reported the following activity between 7 a.m. Monday and 7 a.m. today:
• CHRISTOVAL MORENO CORRALEZ, 52, of 1105 Nolan, was arrested Monday on a charge of public intoxication.
• JACOB RAY ALBARADO, 19, of 300 Tulane Apt. 7, was arrested Monday on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest, search or transportation.
• ALYXANDRIA MARIE MUNOZ, 18, of 1216 Ridgeroad, was arrested Monday on a charge of consumption of alcohol by a minor.
