The Big Spring Police Department reported the following activity between 9 a.m. Saturday and 7 a.m. today:
• JARVIS LAMAR ALEXANDER, 31, of Lubbock, Texas, was arrested Sunday on five warrants from other agencies.
• RILEY ERIK WOOD, 20, of 605 Highland, was arrested Sunday on a charge of evading arrest or detention with a previous conviction.
• TERELL JACOBY DEMERSON, 19, of 1900 Martin Luther King Blvd. (apartment number not provided), was arrested Sunday on warrants for consumption of alcohol by a minor and failure to appear.
Law enforcement officials say there are no outward indications what caused the death of a 39-year-old Big Spring man whose body was discovered in a field Friday afternoon in the southwest part of the city.
Daniel Gene Moses, 39, of Big Spring was pronounced dead at the scene by Howard County Justice of the Peace Bennie Green shortly after the call was received by law enforcement.
According to Sgt. Tony Everett, public information officer with the Big Spring Police Department, the body was discovered and reported to police at approximately 4:15 p.m.
Officials with the Big Spring Fire Department are knocking on wood, and with good reason.
The seasonal upswing in the number of house fires the city of Big Spring and outlying areas normally see thanks to the holiday and colder weather has yet to arrive, according to Fire Marshal Carl Condray, but the good luck doesn't usually last.
