Each year, Spring Tabernacle Ministries hands out hundreds — if not thousands — of toys to make the Christmas season more exciting and gleeful for children in the Big Spring area. This year will be no different.
“We're thrilled about all the good gifts supplied by people and donations of funds which have allowed us to purchase gifts for the children,” said Mona Lue Tonn, pastor of Spring Tabernacle, located at 1209 Wright St. in west Big Spring.
Howard County commissioners discussed implementing a new computer software system for county offices Monday, a move officials say will need to be put into motion quickly, thanks to a lengthy waiting list.
According to County Judge Mark Barr, the proposed software is manufactured by Tyler Technologies, the same company that supplies the government body's current software.
The Big Spring Police Department reported the following activity between 7 a.m. Monday and 7 a.m. today:
• JOSHUA SEAN RESNICK, 31, of 405 Young, was arrested Monday on a charge of forgery.
• ZZACKRAY ALLEN RHODES, 20, of 602 E. 17th St., was arrested Monday on seven warrants from other agencies.
• CRIMINAL MISCHIEF was reported in the 2600 block of Barksdale.
• FORGERY was reported in the 1800 block of S. Gregg Street.
