A Big Spring man received three 30-year prison sentences after being convicted of child sexual abuse Wednesday.
Hector Manuel Gonzales Jr., 33, of 3730 Adams St., was assessed the sentences â€” along with a $10,000 fine â€” at the end of a two-day trial in 118th District Court.
He will serve the sentences concurrently. Under state law, he will not become eligible for parole until he has been in prison at least 15 years.
For the 26th consecutive year, First Church of the Nazarene will give visitors a step-by-step account of the birth, life and death of Jesus â€” all from the comfort of their automobiles.
FCN's annual Drive-Through Nativity, which annually draws thousands of visitors from across West Texas, will be held Friday through Sunday at the church, located at 1400 Lancaster.
Event times are from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. each night. Admission is free, although donations (which go toward future Nativity expenses) will be accepted.
The Big Spring Police Department reported the following activity between 7 a.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. today:
â€˘ ROSHUN DONISHA VANDERBILT-MCGEE, 17, of 104 W. 24th St., was arrested Wednesday on charges of failure to maintain financial responsibility, expired registration, violation of driver's license restriction and driving without a safety belt.
