‘Coming Home’ author schedules local book signing

“Coming Home†… not only what author, Kathleen Rigdon Highley is doing, but it's also the title of her new novel.

Highley — a West Texas native — was raised in Big Spring and graduated from Big Spring High School and Howard College. She will be on hand for a book signing at Inspirations Flowers and Gifts on Saturday, Feb. 11. Her book signing will take place from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Zang to highlight milestone concert Saturday

Van Cliburn gold medalist Hauchen Zhang will be the featured performer when the Big Spring Symphony Orchestra takes the stage Saturday night, but the audience is sure to enjoy other classical music in the show, too, said Dr. Keith Graumann, conductor.

“I think we have put together a very enjoyable evening. This is a concert that will have a lot of emotion, both power and a delicate touch,†Graumann said.
