A Big Spring man found guilty on multiple counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child this week in 118th District Court was sentenced Thursday to serve 35 consecutive years in a Texas Department of Criminal Justice facility.
Ernesto Dutchover Garcia, 60, 1300 E. 11th Place, was found guilty by a jury on one count of indecency with a child and two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child, according to Assistant District Attorney Robin Orr.
Lola Lamb has been intrigued by rocks since the 1970s, when her mother got her interested in the Big Spring Prospector's Club.
“It's a learning process every day. Every rock you cut open, you are the first to see what the good Lord made there,” she said with a smile. “it's never ceased to amaze me how just a dull rock can hold something so beautiful inside.”
The Big Spring Police Department reported the following activity between 7 a.m. Thursday and 7 a.m. today:
• MICHAEL DALE PRESTON, 27, of 2100 Morrison, was arrested Thursday on charges of duty on striking unattended vehicle, driving while intoxicated – third or more offense, evading arrest or detention with a vehicle with a previous conviction.
• LUIS ADOLFO PENA, 33, of 1105 E. 14th St., was arrested Thursday on a warrant from another agency.
• SAMANTHA CYBIL LINDQUIST, 26, of 1306 Tucson, was arrested Thursday on a charge of theft.
