Remains ruled to be that of a male

Breaking News update: Just released from BSPD officials. The remains discovered at the McMahon Wrinkle Airpark in Big Spring on Tuesday have been determined to be that of a male. At this time nothing else has been determined.

CISD approves 2012-13 calendar, teacher contracts

COAHOMA — School trustees here approved the calendar and teacher contracts for the 2012-2013 school year during their monthly meeting Thursday night.

The coming school year at Coahoma will begin Aug. 27 and conclude May 30, 2013, and includes the following student holidays:

• Sept. 3 — Labor Day holiday.
• Oct. 8 — Staff development (student holiday).
• Nov. 21-22 — Thanksgiving holiday.
• Nov. 26 — Staff development (student holiday).
• Dec. 20-Jan. 2, 2013 — Christmas holiday.
• March 11-15, 2013 — Spring break.
• May 24, 2013 — Bad weather make-up day.

Museum hosts Easter exhibit

New life, new hope and and a trip down memory lane is what Heritage Museum is offering with its Easter Greetings exhibit. The exhibit is open to the public until May 1 and is located in the museum lobby.

“Easter hasn't changed much. It is still focused around family for the most part and the traditions have pretty much stayed the same, but there are a few details that have transformed over the years,” Museum Curator Tammy Schrecengost said.

The Big Spring Police Department reported the following activity between 7 a.m. Thursday and 7 a.m. today:
• JAMES DAIL RIERSON, 53, of 3302 W. Front St. in Midland, was arrested Thursday on a charge of public intoxication.
• LEONA JEAN RADASA, 30, of 1413 Wood, was arrested Thursday on charges of public intoxication and failure to identify.
• CALEB LEE HALLFORD, 18, of 10 Kenley Lane, was arrested Thursday on a warrant from another agency and a warrant for use or possession of illegal smoking paraphernalia.
