West Texas residents got a celestial treat late Sunday evening as an annular solar eclipse created a ring of fire in the sky that could be seen all over the Panhandle Region.
According to scientists, the next annular solar eclipse visible in the United States won’t be seen until 2023.
Hundreds of Crossroads residents lined the mountainside street at the Big Spring State Park’s Scenic Mountain to watch the eclipse. Many called the spectacle a “once in a lifetime event,” spending time with loved ones.

The council is expected to consider emergency reading of an ordinance canvassing the results of the election during the meeting, including the race for the District 4 seat on the council and the controversial 4B sales tax project voters approved by a whopping 71 percent margin.
Get ready to cook-off at Hangar 25 Air Museum.
The Flightline Cookbook Cook-off has been rescheduled for Memorial Day. Each entry must be a dish from the “Cooking with Hangar 25” cookbook.
“This is a great way to promote our cookbook and participate in the community,” Genevieve Stockburger, museum administrator, said.
This will be the first time a cook-off has been held at the hangar, but Stockburger said she feels it is something fun, entertaining and beneficial to the community and the museum.
