Local firefighters responded to a blaze early Wednesday morning that destroyed a Big Spring bar on the city's west side. No injuries were reported.
According to Big Spring Fire Marshal Carl Condray, emergency services received the call shortly before 1 a.m. with emergency personnel responding to the El San Luis Bar, located in the 3800 block of W. Highway 80.
And two more makes a full board.
During the most recent board meeting of United Way of Big Spring and Howard County, two new board members were sworn in for three-year terms. New members are Conoco Phillips employee Jason Brock and Sherry Hodnett of Home Hospice.
â€śWe are very pleased to welcome Sherry and Jason to the board and are excited to see what new ideas they will be bringing,â€ť said Sandy Stewart, United Way executive director.
The remainder of the meeting consisted of routine items, including acceptance of minutes and financials as well as other housekeeping items.
The Big Spring Police Department reported the following activity between 7 a.m. Tuesday and 7 a.m. today:
â€˘ RICKIE DELL HAIR, 38, of 1007 S. Nolan St., was arrested Tuesday on a charge of driving while license suspended/invalid previous conviction.
â€˘ STEPHEN GAY, 28, of 1604 Settles, was arrested Tuesday on a warrant from other agency.
â€˘ JOHNNY LAVELL GREEN, 49, of 1111 N. Lancaster, was arrested Tuesday on a charge of driving while license suspended/invalid with previous conviction.
