Despite a strong public outcry to let the Big Spring Spring Economic Development Corporation remain a Type A agency from board members — present and former — and local residents, the city council voted unanimously Tuesday night to move forward with efforts to have the issue taken to the voters in November during a special election.
The Big Spring Police Department reported the following activity between 7 a.m. Tuesday and 7 a.m. today:
• ALEXANDER TAPIA, 27, of 1315 Park St., was arrested Tuesday on a warrant from another agency.
• NATHANIEL DEVON LANG, 18, of 1505 Johnson St., was arrested Tuesday on charges of possession of marijuana – two ounces or less and failure to identify as a fugitive – giving false information.
• BILLY CHRISTENSEN, 25, of Snyder, Texas, was arrested Tuesday on a charge of shoplifting (theft) – more than $50 and less than $500.
• THEFT was reported in the 400 block of S. Birdwell Lane.
