Let's all go to the fair.
Gates open at 5 p.m. today for the annual event, which concludes Saturday evening.
Gates will open at 5 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday.
Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for children between 6 and 12 years old. Children younger than 5 are admitted free. As a way of honoring the Marion Newton family, the fair will be donating $1 per ticket from today's gate admissions to the American Heart Association.
COAHOMA â€” Big Red is having a homecoming.
Bonfires, pep rallies and coronations are the highlights of this week's 2012 homecoming celebration at Coahoma High School.
Activities kicked off with themed dress-up days at the school, then hit high gear with Wednesday night's bonfire west of the football stadium.
But the really big events will be held Friday, school officials say.
Activities begin with the homecoming pep rally scheduled for 3 p.m. in the high school gym, then shift to the football stadium, where the Bulldogs will face Ballinger at 7:30 p.m.
The Big Spring Police Department reported the following activity between 7 a.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. today:
â€¢ SANDY MICHELLE BERMEA, 21, of 801 W. FM 700, was arrested Wednesday on a warrant for theft.
â€¢ AMANDA MARIE HEFFINGTON, 32, of 206 Circle Dr., was arrested Wednesday on warrants for failure to control speed, failure to use child safety seat system and failure to appear (two counts).
â€¢ ARMANDO AVINA, 30, of 304 E. 13th St., was arrested Wednesday on a charge of driving while license suspended/invalid â€“ no insurance.
