A resolution to permanently close a portion of a county road in the Tubbs Addition will highlight a routine meeting of Howard County Commissioners Court at 10 a.m. Monday.
The road dead-ends in front of two homes and both owners have petitioned the county to close the road to through traffic.
“it's pretty simple, really,” county Judge Mark barr said. “Both property owners are in agreement over this. All it takes is a resolution.”
Also Monday, commissioners will hear a report from Sheriff Stan Parker on the ethnic profile of county jail prisoners during 2012.
FORSAN —School trustees here are expected to join the majority of Texas school districts in suspending a controversial grading rule when they hold their monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Monday in the administration wing board room.
The board will consider a resolution suspending the “15 percent rule.” Under the rule, a student's score on the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) end of course exams would account for 15 percent of the student's final grade in each tested subject area.
