Coahoma ISD trustees to discuss safety procedures

January 16, 2013

COAHOMA — Student safety and school security will be the main topics of discussion when Coahoma Independent School District trustees hold their monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday in the administration building board room.

In the wake of the Newtown, Conn., School shootings which claimed 20 first-graders and six educators last month, student safety has become of prime concern for both parents and education professionals.

“I've said it before: Our job is to educate our students, but our No. 1 goal is to ensure their safety,” CISD Superintendent Amy Jacobs said.
