COLORADO CITY — Three men were arrested here shortly after midnight, following a bizarre altercation with a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper on Interstate Highway 20 near the Mitchell County and Howard County line.
According to Abilene DPS Senior Trooper Sparky Dean, the altercation between the three men and a DPS trooper began at approximately 6:20 a.m. Monday when the vehicle they were in was pulled over for speeding.
Needed repairs to the Interstate Highway 20 bridge intersecting with FM 700 continued Monday afternoon, as construction crews begin the arduous task of replacing several load-bearing beams on the roadway.
Crews from the Texas Department of Transportation and contractors were on the work site much of Monday morning and afternoon, as northbound traffic on FM 700 was diverted east to the highway's South Service Road to make room for the necessary equipment, which included a crane.
The Big Spring Police Department reported the following activity between 7 a.m. Monday and 7 a.m. today:
• ROBERT SCOTT OCHOA, 33, of 804 W. Interstate Highway 20 N. Service Road Apt. 204, was arrested Monday on a warrant from another agency.
• BRANDON JOE ROBINSON, 27, of 1312 Elm St., was arrested Monday on warrants for driving while license invalid and failure to appear.
• ANGELA CELESTE DUGGER, 35, of 1604 Settles, was arrested Monday on a warrant for bail jumping – failure to appear.
