TxDOT puts Business 80 work on hold

Citing unfavorable weather conditions, the Texas Department of Transportation announced it is suspending construction on I-20 Business — Third and Fourth streets — during the winter.

The project will resume in March, when weather is more favorable for the type of work that remains, said TxDOT Area Engineer Jesse Mendoza, P.E.

Festival of Lights drawing good crowds at city park

If you turn the lights on, they will come.

That’s the theory behind the popular drive-through event, the Festival of Lights, and if so, they’re right. As of Wednesday evening, 3,406 visitors had made their way through the 1 million-plus light display, representing 16 states, Canada and Japan.

The Festival opened Sunday and will run from 6 to 10 nightly through Dec. 31 at Comanche Trail Park.
