County eyes $3 million in state road grants

December 26, 2013

Sometime in the next 30 days, Howard County officials are expected to formally apply for more than $3 million in state grants to begin the process of rehabilitating county roads.

Several county roads in this area have been adversely affected by the heavy influx of oilfield-related traffic and officials are looking to the state as a possible way to pick up at least part of the repair bill.
