Council eyes May election

February 11, 2013

The Big Spring City Council is expected to approve first reading of a ordinance calling for the May 11 municipal general election, as two seats on the council go up for grabs this election season.

The mayoral seat, along with the District 5 seat on the council, will be decided by the May 11 contest.

Incumbent Mayor Tommy Duncan has indicated he will not seek a second term in the office, saying he never intended to serve more than one term in the position.
