A murder indictment against a Big Spring man was among more than 30 true bills returned by a Howard County grand jury this week.
Christopher Daniel Marquez, 19, who is currently in the Howard County Jail, was hit with three indictments for his alleged role in an October shooting that left one man dead and another wounded.
Luis Adolfo Pena, 33, died Oct. 27, 2012 from a gunshot wound he received earlier in the day.
The Four Chaplain Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church, 705 W FM 700.
The memorial service honors and remembers the Veterans who passed away in 2012. The Legion of Honor award will be presented to three individuals who have given outstanding service to our Veterans during this past year.
Local VA Medical Center officials encourage all family members of veterans who passed away to be present and welcome the community to come and attend the memorial service.
The Big Spring Police Department reported the following activity between 7 a.m. Friday and 7 a.m. Saturday:
â€˘ RIANNON HENSON MELTON, 28, of 2406 S. Monticello, was arrested Friday on warrants for resisting arrest, search or transport and disregarding a red light.
â€˘ MICHAEL ALLERY WEIST, 31, of California, was arrested Saturday on a charge of no drivers license when unlicensed.
