FORSAN — School trustees here unanimously voted Monday evening to send a $23.8 million construction bond issue to voters in May.
After several months of study, Forsan Independent School District officials decided to move forward with a proposal that, pending voter approval, will finance a new elementary school and several renovations at the secondary campus and other facilities.
Items to be financed by the bond package include:
An educational and fun workshop is being offered to area children by Hangar 25 Air Museum.
Children age 5 through 12 are invited to attend the Saturday, March 16, event, titled “When Worst Comes to War: Korea and Vietnam at Webb AFB.”
“It is a wonderful educational opportunity for kids to learn about the Korean and Vietnam wars,” said Genevieve Stockburger, museum administrator. “Webb AFB was in operation during both of these conflicts and many pilots who served there found themselves fighting in these arenas.
The Big Spring Police Department reported the following activity between 7 a.m. Monday and 7 a.m. today:
• THOMAS OLIVER BRADBERRY, 45, of 2705 Ann Dr., was arrested Monday on a charge of public intoxication.
• DEBRA LYNN KNOTT, 51, of 106 E. 22nd St., was arrested Monday on a charge of public intoxication.
• AARON SCOTT LANGFORD, 31, of 2506 Gunter, was arrested Monday on warrants for failure to maintain financial responsibility, driving while license invalid (two counts) and open container in a motor vehicle – passenger.
