McLellan files for mayor post

The first political hat has been tossed in the city of Big Spring, as Leonards Pharmacy Inc. owner and former economic development board member Larry McLellan filed last week to run for the mayoral seat on the city council.

McLellan will be vying for the seat currently held by one-term Mayor Tommy Duncan, who announced last week he would not be seeking re-election.

Local man arrested on indecency charge

A local man was arrested on indecency with a child charges stemming from an alleged incident in Comanche Trail Park.

Aaron Lustfeldt, 27, of Big Spring, was awaiting arraignment this morning after being arrested on the indecency charge, said Big Spring Police Department Public Information Officer Sgt. Tony Everett.

The incident was alleged to have occurred Friday afternoon.
