Brooks woodworking exhibit opens Saturday at museum

A lifetime of carving beauty from wood will be on display this month at Heritage Museum.

Various works from local resident Bill Brooks will make up “My World is Turning,” an exhibit which opens Saturday and runs through Feb. 28, Museum Director Nancy Raney said.

The exhibit will open with a wine and cheese reception at the museum from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

The Big Spring Police Department reported the following activity between 7 a.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. today:
• MONICA RENAE POLK, 38, of Odessa, Texas, was arrested Wednesday on a warrant from another agency and warrants for assault by contact, failure to appear (three counts), no driver's license – when unlicensed and disregarding a stop sign.
• LAURA ANN MURPHY, 28, of 1102 Ridgeroad, was arrested Wednesday on a warrant for backed so as to interfere (or without safety).
