Area residents can find out March 21, as the National Weather Service will present its annual Skywarn class at 7 p.m. at the City Council Chambers â€” located at 307 E. Fourth St.
Though the Crossroads area enjoyed a rather tame weather last year, officials with the National Weather Service say the Boy Scout mantra is one to live by: Always be prepared.
Eight Big Spring Independent School District students are heading for the state science fair, thanks to superior performances at regional competition in Odessa this past weekend.
Brittany Tan, Haley Jenkins, Chloe Bustamante, Oscar Alvarado, Trinady Joslin, Ranen Wilson and Kylie Palmer from Big Spring Junior High School, along with Rebecca Evans from Big Spring High School earned a spot in the state science fair, which will be held later this month in San Antonio.
The Howard County Sheriff's Office reported the following activity (Note: there were 77 prisoners in the county jail at the time of this report):
â€¢ JOE ANTHONY VILLARREAL, 26, was jailed on charges of criminal mischief and impairing/interrupting public service.
â€¢ BRANDON DENNIS OLIVETTI, was jailed on a sentence for criminal trespass.
â€¢ LOUIS BUTLER EVANS, 59, was jailed on a sentence for possession of a controlled substance.
â€¢ ANTONIO PENA JR., 29, was jailed on warrants for bail jumping and failure to appear.
