Big Springers are getting ready — as much as possible — for another year of road construction through their town.
Before road renovation on Third and Fourth streets east of Gregg is finalized, Price Construction crews will begin the same type of work on a mile-long stretch of Business I-20 (Third and Fourth streets) west of Gregg.
The project nvolves rehabilitating I-20 Business from Jones Street to U.S. 87 (Gregg Street) and will include sidewalk construction. The work will tie in with the current project to rehabilitate the route from Gregg east to N. Owens Street.
Area residents will get the opportunity to hear an up-and-coming Christian rock band while also helping out the Big Spring Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club, as the local charity looks to raise funds for its newly constructed computer room.
The Boys and Girls Club, which recently moved into its new building and gym located adjacent to the Salvation Army offices, will host Christian rock band Thirty-Nine Thoughts on Friday, according to program coordinator Heather DeElena.
