Rising property valuations aren't just a headache for homeowners — even a taxing entity can feel the pinch.
Significant valuation increases the past few years might finally push Big Spring Independent School District into “property-rich” status, which would result in less state money for the district's budget and BSISD having to disburse some of its revenue to poorer schools across Texas.
The Big Spring Police Department reported the following activity between 7 a.m. Monday and 7 a.m. today:
• AMBER RENEE ROBINSON, 27, of 100 Brown, was arrested Monday on warrants for expired motor vehicle inspection certificate and bail jumping – failure to appear (fine only).
• MITCHELL ALAN DUSH, 35, of 3600 Hamilton, was arrested Monday on a charge of driving while license invalid – DWI related.
• JAMES LESLIE INGRAM, 45, of 1100 W. Second St., was arrested Monday on a charge of criminal trespass of a habitation/shelter.
