The West Texas VA Health System will be holding an open house at 1:30 p.m. Friday for its new Click 2 Benefits Program.
The reception will be in room 147 at the George OâBrien Jr. VAMC at 300 Veterans Blvd.
âThe West Texas VA Health Care System is excited to announce the new Click 2 Benefits program,â said Iva Jo Hanslik, community relations coordinator.
The Big Spring Police Department reported the following activity between 7 a.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. today:
â˘ WILLIAM TYSON FLEMING, 56, of 3405 E. Highway 350, was arrested Wednesday on a charge of no driver's license â when unlicensed.
â˘ BURGLARY OF A VEHICLE was reported in the 1400 block of E. Sixth Street.
â˘ THEFT was reported:
In the 3600 block of W. Highway 80.
In the 800 block of W. Fifth Street.
The Howard County Sheriffâs Office reported the following activity:
Note â Officials with the Howard County Jail reported having 73 inmates at the time of this report.
More than 200 students will receive diplomas when the Big Spring High School Class of 2013 holds commencement exercises at 8 p.m. Friday in Garrett Coliseum.
Top graduates for the class are Connor Furqueron and Charles Anderson.
Furqueron, son of Phil and Cherry Furqueron, is class valedictorian and will graduate with a 4.0 grade point average. He is a National Honor Society member and received the Optimist Youth Achievement Award and the Highest Academically Ranked Male Athlete Award.
