June 26, 2013

COAHOMA — Richie Ewing was among the best of the best at the recent University Interscholastic League State Solo and Ensemble contest.

Ewing, a sophomore baritone for the Coahoma High School choir, earned a Divison I rating (the highest possible) rating at the state contest, but his excellence didn't stop there — his judge rating him as an “outstanding performer” at the contest, held in Pflugerville.

To put that achievement into context, Lewis was among 305 of an estimated 24,000 contest participants to receive that distinction, CHS Choir Director Sandy Wallace said.
