Atmos rate hike on council agenda

fter months of negotiations, Big Spring city officials are poised to approve a modified rate increase by Atmos Energy.

Big Spring City Council will consider approval of the rate increase when it meets at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in council chambers, 307 E. Fourth.

Gasoline prices up slightly

Average retail gasoline prices in Texas have risen 3.7 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $3.24 a gallon Sunday, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 13,114 gas outlets in Texas.

This compares with the national average that has increased 3.4 cents per gallon in the last week to $3.47 a gallon.
