Rattlesnake Roundup headed this way

The 50th annual Rattlesnake Roundup will be slithering its way back into the Howard County Fair Barns later this month and also making a return is well-known snake handler Jackie Bibby.
“The weather is going to be nice next week so hopefully we will have a bunch of snakes,” said Dennis Burns, event coordinator.

Runoff recount? Possibly

As of now, there will be no recount of votes in the Coahoma justice of the peace election, but that may change in the coming days.
In the tightest of the locally-contested race in Tuesday's primary election, one vote made Linda Halfmann the odd woman out in the race to name the Republican nominees for the Precinct 2 justice of the peace. Connie Shaw and Phillip Reid earned spots in the May 27 runoff by garnering 216 and 130 votes, respectively, while Halfmann was third with 129 votes.
