The Clarks were married in Big Spring on March 7, 1952 at her motherâ€™s home. The ceremony was attended by family and friends.
Mildred is the daughter of the late Judge Jacob E. Brown and Mary E. Oâ€™Daniel Brown. Calvin is the son of the late Ossie Clark and Velma Clark of Arkansas. They met quite by chance at the local Nutt Drive In. He proposed that very evening in a joking way, â€śBaby if you will marry me we will go places.â€ť Mildred did not believe him and thought, yeah, probably to the county fair or a hog calling.
Mr. and Mrs. Maxwell Barr are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Meridith Kaye, to Barrett Durst, son of Glenn and Meleta Durst of Fredericksburg, Texas.
Meridith graduated from Texas Tech University with a bachelor of business administration in finance. She is a practice administrator for physician network services in Lubbock.
Barrett graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelor of science in animal science and a minor in wildlife management. He is employed with Texas Parks and Wildlife as the superintendent for Big Bend Ranch State Park.
Faustino and Sally Gonzales of Fort Hood, Texas, are pleased to announce the birth of their twins, Aaron Faustino and Victoria Alexa, born Feb. 28, 2012.
Aaron Faustino was born at12:28 p.m. and weighed 5 pounds 12 ounces. He measured 18 ÂĽ inches long.
Victoria Alexa was born at 12:30 p.m. and weighed 7 pounds 4 ounces. She measured 18 and Âľ inches long.
Their grandparents are Oscar and Judy Trevino and Faustino Sr. and Maria Gonzales, all of Big Spring.
They were welcomed home by their big sister, three-year-old Isabella Marisa.
Judith Ann Ashley and John Tyler Murphy announce their engagement.
Judith Ann lives in Midland. Her parents are Robert F. and Elsa S. Ashley of Dallas. Her major is business finance and will graduate from University of Texas at Permian Basin.
John Tyler Murphy lives in Midland. Tyler studied management at Texas State University. His parents are Murray L. and Diane R. Murphy of Big Spring. Tylerâ€™s grandparents are Dr. and Mrs. E. B. Range Jr., and they live in Big Spring, Texas.
Edward and Jean Slate will celebrate their 50thÂ anniversary March 24 with a family gathering in the home of their daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Randy Elder of McKinney. Also hosting the event will be their son and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Kim Slate of Burleson. Unable to attend are their younger son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Ruth Slate, Mandeville La.Â The Slates have been blessed with 10 grandchildren, five boys and five girls.
