Rodney and Denise Smith of Lockney, announce the engagement of their daughter, Tessa Michelle Saul, to Britt Casey Clark, son of Casey and Fayelyn Clark of Big Spring.

Peyton Everlee Canales, daughter of Veronica Ruiz and Moses Canales of Big Spring, was born March 2, 2012, at MCH Center for Women and Infants in Odessa, Texas.
She was 20 1/2 inches long and weighed 7 pounds, 15 ounces.
Her grandparents are Leticia and Robert Ruiz of Big Spring. Paternal grandparents are Lee and Jeannie Canales.
She was welcomed home by her sibling, Kloe Canales.
The Clarks were married in Big Spring on March 7, 1952 at her motherâ€™s home. The ceremony was attended by family and friends.
Mildred is the daughter of the late Judge Jacob E. Brown and Mary E. Oâ€™Daniel Brown. Calvin is the son of the late Ossie Clark and Velma Clark of Arkansas. They met quite by chance at the local Nutt Drive In. He proposed that very evening in a joking way, â€śBaby if you will marry me we will go places.â€ť Mildred did not believe him and thought, yeah, probably to the county fair or a hog calling.

Victoria Alexa was born at 12:30 p.m. and weighed 7 pounds 4 ounces. She measured 18 and Âľ inches long.

Edward and Jean Slate will celebrate their 50thÂ anniversary March 24 with a family gathering in the home of their daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Randy Elder of McKinney. Also hosting the event will be their son and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Kim Slate of Burleson. Unable to attend are their younger son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Ruth Slate, Mandeville La.Â The Slates have been blessed with 10 grandchildren, five boys and five girls.
