Hailynn Clair Breckenridge, daughter of Tamra Wallace and Drew Breckenridge of Big Spring, was born June 1, 2011, at 4:32 p.m.
She weighed 6 pounds 10 ounces and measured 18 Â½ inches long.
Her maternal grandparents are Denise Reed of Big Spring and Ricky Wallace of Big Spring. Her paternal grandparents are Stephanie Breckenridge of Big Spring and John Breckenridge of Alvarado.
Allan and Jessica Belew of Kings Bay, Ga., are proud to announce the birth of their daughter, Julia Ann.
Julia was born in Kings Bay on Aug. 5. She weighed 9 pounds and was 20 inches long. She was welcomed home by her big brother, Nicholas.
Grandparents include Richard and Virginia Belew of Big Spring; Dominick Jr. and Debbie Ferraro of Lantana, Texas. Great-grandparents include Dominick Sr. and Josephine Ferraro of Port Chester, N.Y. Her late great-grandparents, Ray and Mary Hentze, Salvador Sr. and Eliza Hernandez and Pete and Agnes Belew.
Shane Martinez and Randi Gerstenberger of Big Spring, announce the birth of their daughter Ava Jean Martinez.
Ava was born Aug. 19, 2011, at 11:08 p.m. She weighed 6 pounds 7 ounces and measured 18 inches long.
Her maternal grandparents are Nelda Williams and Deter and Kion Gerstenberger. Paternal grandparents are Augustine and April Martinez and Denise Creekmore.
She was welcomed home by her siblings, LaRae and Maddix Martinez.
Krystal and Coby Edmiston, of San Angelo announce the birth ofÂ Kaylee Anne Edmiston, born Aug. 3, 2011. Kaylee weighed 8 pounds 6 ounces, and was 19Â 3/4 inches long.Â
Her proud grandparents are Mike & Laura Hughes of Big Spring, the late George Anne McAngus of Eldorado, Jim Bob and Trish Edmiston of McCamey and great grandma's Esther Hughes of Big Spring andÂ Joan Howard of Anchor Point, Ark.Â
Stacey Nicole Nehl of Port Huron, Mich., and James Robert Driver of Seminole exchanged wedding vows Aug. 23, 2011, at 2:15 p.m.
The ceremony was held in Howard County and was performed by Justice of the Peace Bennie Green.
Stacey is the daughter of Kelly Scott of Amarillo and Jerome Nehl of Port Huron, Mich. James is the son of Bob and Mary Driver of Big Spring.
Audra Lynn Bailey of Big Spring and Jared Eugene Kirby of Pleasanton were united in marriage Sept.19, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Los Patios in San Antonio. Paul Kirby, uncle of the groom, officiated. A reception followed at The Brazier at Los Patios. A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groomâ€™s parents at Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen.
The bride is the daughter of Mike and Denise Bailey of Big Spring. The groom is the son of Jerry and Martha Kirby of Pleasanton.
Kathryn Dawes Zetterstrom and Jeffrey Phillip Kendall were joined in holy matrimony at 11:30 a.m. Aug. 6, 2011, in the sanctuary of St. Johnâ€™s United Methodist Church in Lubbock. Officiating at the double ring ceremony was the Rev. Ann Akin, associate pastor at St. Johnâ€™s. Organist Sigurd Ogard presented prenuptial music on the Holtkamp tracker pipe organ. The bride, escorted by her father, Joseph Oâ€™Hara Dawes, processed to Nun Danket Alle Gott by Karg-Elert. The recessional was the St. Anne Prelude by J.S. Bach. Raymond Edward Ellis Smith, cousin of the bride, lighted the alter candles.
Townsend Madden Porras, son of Marcus and Chelby Porras of Big Spring, was born Aug. 15, 2011, at 10:07 p.m.
Townsend weighed 8 pounds 3 ounces and measured 19 Â¾ inches.
His maternal grandparents are Armando and Suzanne Salgado of Big Spring and his paternal grandparents are Viana Porras and Luis and Lisa Porras all of Big Spring.
W.C. and Mary Odell of 3616 Parkway will be honored on their 70th wedding anniversary with a party hosted by Berea Baptist Church, 4202 Wasson Road in the church fellowship hall Aug. 28 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Everyone is invited, no gifts please, but cards will be accepted. W.C. Was born in Lenorah, Martin County, on Feb. 25, 1924. Mary B. Odell (Hildreth) was born in Big Spring on Aug. 3, 1924. They married in Big Spring on Aug. 3, 1941. They have lived in Big Spring, Cisco, El Paso, Lubbock, Tucumcari and Roy, N.M.
Nadine Hodnett celebrated her 100th birthday at the Park View Nursing Home Wednesday with family and friends. A lifelong resident of Texas, she has lived in Howard County since 1930. Her grandfather Alex Haynes came to Big Spring in 1904 and bought a section of land four miles north of town while her parents raised nine children in Fluvana. Her father, Henry Haynes was stationmaster for the Roscoe, Snyder and Pacific Railroad and her brothers farmed the section of land where they lived.
