Norman Webb Jr. of San Angelo, formerly of Big Spring, died Monday, November 7, 2011 in San Angelo. His services are pending with Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
Leonard G. "Leo" Porter, 75, of Colorado City, formerly of Big Spring died Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011, at his residence. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011, at the Pavalion at the Big Spring State Park in Big Spring.
Leo was born on February 23, 1936, in Chicago, Illinois. He grew up in North Carolina and came to Big Spring when stationed at Webb Air Force Base. He was an aircraft mechanic for the United States Air Force and later became a pumper in the oilfield, retiring from Tameric Peteroleum.
Jack Walter Mitchell, 81, of Big Spring died Sunday, Nov. 6, 2011, at his residence. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, 2011, at the Senior Citizens Center.
He was born March 4, 1930 to Sarah and Luther Mitchell in Corbin, Kentucky. He lived in Michigan most of his life where he owned his own roofing and contracting business. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in Japan from 1947 to 1950 and in Germany from 1952 until 1954. He moved to Big Spring in March of 2009. He was active at the Senior Citizens Center and was a Baptist.
Harold Brantley, 89, of Stanton died Monday, Nov. 7, 2011, in a Crane nursing home. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, 2011, at the Evergreen Cemetery in Stanton, Texas.
He was born Dec. 7, 1921, in Woodson, Texas, and married Lillian Inez Allen on May 27, 1944 in Holliday, Texas.
Harold served in the United States Army as a sergeant and platoon leader during World War II. He worked as a pipeline welder and had worked on the Alaskan pipeline. He also worked with his brother, Henry Brantley of Monahans, moving oil rigs.
Geraldine “Geri” Lopez, 63, of Big Spring died Sunday, Nov. 6, 2011, at her residence. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home with a vigil to be held at 7 p.m. Memorial mass will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
