Jeremy Acuff, 36, of Big Spring went to be with Yeshua Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, at Myers & Smith Chapel with Joe Hernandez officiating. Burial will be at Mount Olive Memorial Park.
Jeremy was born July 11, 1976, in Lamesa, Texas. He has been a lifetime resident of Big Spring. He worked in the oilfield most of his adult life.
Joe Vera, 55, of Big Spring died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, in Albuquerque, N.M. Vigil services will be at 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at Myers & Smith Chapel. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Mount Olive Memorial Park, with Deacon Johnny Arguello officiating.
He was born April 27, 1957 in Sinton, Texas to Juanita (Flores) and Jose Vera. He had lived in Big Spring for most of his life. He moved to Albuquerque, N.M., 11 years ago. He was a plumber for most of his life. He enjoyed carpentry and cars.
Alfred Franks, 81, of Stanton died Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, in a local nursing home. Graveside funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, at the Evergreen Cemetery Chapel with the Rev. David Harp officiating.
Alfred was born July 2, 1931, in Midland, Texas, and married Margaret Flanagan March 7, 1953, in Stanton.
A longtime resident of Stanton, Alfred worked as a troubleshooter for Texas Electric for 15 years, as a heavy equipment operator for Martin County for five years and had farmed for 55-plus years.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Stanton.
