October 20th
Emilee Ramsey Beckham, formerly of Big Spring, died Oct. 17, 2012, at age 95 in Claude, Texas.
She was born March 8, 1917, on a ranch near Westbrook, Texas to I.W. and Sarah Ann Ramsey. Her family owned and operated the I.W. Ramsey Cash Grocery in Westbrook. After starting elementary school one year early and skipping one grade, Mrs. Beckham graduated from Westbrook High School at age 16 and moved to Abilene to join her older sister, Burnice Ramsey, as a student at McMurry College.
Jeneane Perry, 75, of the Lomax Community, died Friday, Oct. 19, 2012 at her residence. Her services are pending with Gilbreath Funeral Home of Stanton.
October 19th
George Donald Tays left his loving family on Oct. 18, 2012, after a six-month illness.
He was born in Roswell, N.M. on June 23, 1930 to William Samuel and Addie Pearl Sheldon Tays. George graduated from high school in Roswell, attended New Mexico A&M and graduated from the University of Albuquerque (Cum Laude).
He enlisted in the Navy Oct. 27, 1948, (Navy Day) and retired in August 1971. He entered civil service in 1976 as a social security claims representative and retired from SSA in June 1992.
Former Big Spring resident Marsha Gwyn Darrow, 62, died Oct. 6, 2012, in Longmont, Colo. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012, at Spring Tabernacle Church with Mona Lou Tonn officiating.
She was born Sept. 14, 1950, in Augusta, Kan. She was a cook and enjoyed riding motorcycles.
She is survived by three daughters, Kathryn Dean, Athea Nall and Veronica White, all of Big Spring; 11 grandchildren; and a sister, Leslee Jones of Longmont, Colo.
J. W. "Bill" McClendon, 88, of Big Spring, died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012 at Scenic Mountain Medical Center. His services are pending at Myers & Smith Funeral Home.
October 18th
Bruce Edmund Hicks, 60, of Big Spring, died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, 2012, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, at the funeral home.
He was born Oct. 10, 1952, in Fort Worth, Texas. Bruce was an avid photographer and had worked for CNN and KLBK Television in Lubbock.
Anthony Christian Luna, the infant son of Sunday and Malory Luna, of Big Spring, died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012, in an Odessa hospital. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 19, 2012 at Trinity Memorial Park with Mona Lou Tonn officiating.
He was born Oct. 16, 2012 in Odessa.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Sunday Jr. and Caden Luna; maternal grandmother, Janie Galaviz; paternal grandfather, Domingo Luna; and paternal grandmother, Adelina Servantes, all of Big Spring.
October 17th
Ella 'Bea' Fishback, 83, of Coahoma died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012, in a Big Spring assisted living facility. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Jerrod Fishback officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012, at the funeral home.
She was born July 9, 1929, in Hazle Dell (Comanche County), Texas, and married William Albert "Bill" Fishback Dec. 30, 1948, in Brownwood, Texas. He preceded her in death Feb. 4, 2009.
Mike Colclazer, 60, of Big Spring died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012, in a Brady hospital. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, 2012, at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, at the funeral home.
Dennis Brehm Sr., 59, of Big Spring died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012, at Scenic Mountain Medical Center. The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, 2012, at Myers & Smith Chapel with the Rev. Holston Banks officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Mount Olive Memorial Park.
