John J. “Jerry” White, 92, of Big Spring died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at Lamun-Lusk-Sanchez Texas State Veterans Home. His body will be in state at Myers & Smith Funeral Home Wednesday and Thursday. Graveside services with military honors will be at 2:15 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas.
He was born April 26, 1920, in Sessor, Ill. He entered the Army Air Corps in 1937 and served in Europe during World War II. His service included Selfridge Air Base in Michigan, Port Field Air Base in the Philippines and Perrin Air Base in Sherman, Texas.
Frank “Porky” Overton, 28, of Big Spring, died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, in Big Spring. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, at Myers & Smith Chapel with the Rev. Derek Looney, pastor of Spring Creek Fellowship, officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Olive Memorial Park.
Frank was born Feb. 5, 1984, in Big Spring, Texas to Hassona and Donald Max Overton. He was a lifetime resident of Big Spring. He was a driller for Robinson Drilling at the time of his death.
