Josefina De La Rosa Rodriguez, 57, of Big Spring died Sunday, March 11, 2012, at University Medical Center in Lubbock. Vigil services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Myers & Smith Chapel with Deacon Jerry Duenes officiating. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Myers & Smith Chapel with Deacon Johnny Arguello officiating. Burial will be at Coahoma Cemetery.
She was born Aug. 20, 1954, in Parras, Coahuila, Mexico, to Guadalupe and Roman De La Rosa. She lived most of her life in Howard County. She was a homemaker and a Catholic.
Amy Phillips, 31, of Big Spring died Sunday, March 11, 2012, at her residence. Services are pending at Myers & Smith Funeral Home.
Peggy Atchison, 82, of Wichita, Kan., formerly of Big Spring died Monday, March 12, 2012, at her residence. Services are pending at Myers & Smith Funeral Home.

Leon Presley Smith, 66, of Brady, Texas, died March 10, 2012, at his residence. Visitation was held Monday, March 12, 2012, at Heritage Funeral Home in Brady. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery.
Rolland Nelson, 91, of Pampa, Texas, formerly Big Spring, Texas, and Arkadelphia, Ark,, died Wednesday, March 7, 2012. He was born Aug. 27, 1920, the son of John Davis and Hattie Golder Nelson.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Trinity Temple Assembly of God Church in Arkadelphia.
Albert “Tomate” Mendoza, 67, of Big Spring died Saturday, March 10, 2012, at Scenic Mountain Medical Center. Vigil services will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Deacon Johnny Arguello officiating. Burial will be at Mount Olive Memorial Park.

Toni Barron Choate of Midland, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, March 3, 2012, at the age of 73. She was a lifelong resident of Big Spring before moving to Midland in 2005. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 10, 2012, at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 1001 Goliad, Big Spring. The Rev. Barbara Kirk-Norris of St. Mary's, Fr. Tom Finne of Christ Church of Midland and the Rev. Katie Churchwell of Washington, D.C., will officiate. A reception will immediately follow the service in the Parish Hall until 4 p.m.
Bruce Thomas, 63, of Big Spring died Monday, March 5, 2012, at Midland Memorial Hospital. A celebration of Bruce’s life will be at 5 p.m. Saturday at Marvin Boyles Auto Service, 102 Young, next to Southwest Tool. Friends are asked to bring one food item.
Billy Charles Davis, 75, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at his residence. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, March 10, 2012, at Oak Crest Funeral Home with the Rev. Curtis Holland officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery. Visitation with Mr. Davis’ family will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, March 9, at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.

Sammie Estelle Cox Meeks, born Nov. 27, 1939, went to be with her beloved Lord and Savior Saturday, March 3, 2012, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, March 10, 2012, at Nalley-Pickle and Welch Funeral Home with Brother Ken McMeans, pastor of College Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity Memorial Park in Big Spring.
