Harold Glenn Henley passed away May 9, 2012, after a lengthy illness. He was born Oct. 9, 1926, in Scurry County, Texas, to Thomas and Mamie Henley. He graduated from Ira High School in 1944 and served in the Army during World War II.
He met and married Joan Saunders in January of 1948 and they spent the next 18 months living on the river as river riders at Black Gap in Big Bend Park. After farming in Scurry County and two years in Garden City, he and Joan moved to Stanton in 1961 and remained there for 39 years.
