Barney Lee Echols, 98, of Big Spring died Saturday, May 19, 2012, at Lamun Lusk Sanchez Texas State Veterans Home. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. Monday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Graveside services with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Memorial Park.
Vernon Parnell, 71, of Big Spring died Saturday, May 19, 2012, at Scenic Mountain Medical Center. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at Mount Olive Memorial Park with military honors. The Rev. Mona Lue Tonn, pastor of Spring Tabdernacle, will be officiating.
He was born Nov. 1, 1940, in Calvin, Okla., to Lillie and Oscar Parnell. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He owned Parnell’s Salvage and also transported and installed mobile homes for many years. He had been a resident of Howard County for 40 years. He married Shirley Garrett on Sept. 6, 1994.
Gene Larry Leonard, 65, of Big Spring died Friday, May 18, 2012, at his residence. Services are pending at Myers & Smith Funeral Home.
