Joe S. Ewing

Joe S. Ewing, 70, formerly of Big Spring, Texas, died Jan. 21, 2013, in Colorado Springs, Colo.

He was born Jan. 19, 1943, in Big Spring and attended public schools here, graduating from Big Spring High School in 1961. He then attended North Texas State University before beginning his career in the U. S. Border Patrol. He later transferred to the U.S. Customs Service, where he was a pilot and a senior special agent.

Caden grew up as a country boy from Gardendale, Texas. He lived in Coahoma, Texas, during his teenage years before returning to Gardendale to build his home.

Caden was the owner of Dig-Em Backhoe Services in Gardendale. He was the proud father of a beautiful little girl, Joslynn Rose.

Caden would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He had a heart of gold and was quick to help anyone do anything they needed. Caden loved being around people and was easy to spot in a crowd by his cowboy hat and his big smile.
