Janice Irene Danford, 57, of Georgetown, Texas passed away on Sept. 21, 2013, of recurring cancer, after nearly 10 years in remission.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, in the Chapel of Ramsey Funeral Home with Shane Blackshear officiating.
Abigail Daisy "Abby" Valencia, 17, of Big Spring died Saturday Sept. 21, 2013, at University Medical Center in Lubbock. A vigil service will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Deacon Johnny Arguello officiating. Burial will be at Mount Olive Memorial Park.
She was born Sept. 23, 1995, to Maria Magdalena Enriquez and Adam Valencia Sr., in Big Spring. She was a Catholic and a lifetime resident of Big Spring. She was employed by Whataburger and Wendy's restaurants.
Bobby Cordova, 58, of Big Spring, died Wednesday, Sept.18, 2013, at Scenic Mountain Medical Center. The family will receive friends from 5 p,m, until 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Myers & Smith Chapel. Vigil and memorial services will follow at 7:30 p.m. at Myers & Smith Chapel. Additional services and burial will be in Logan, N.M., on Monday, Sept. 23, 2013.
Lou Ann (Nall) Baker, 79, of Burke, Va., passed away after a battle with cancer. She was born in Big Spring in 1934 to Raymond (Poncho) Nall and Eva Nall (Big Spring Health Food Store original owner) and lived there until she attended Abilene Christian University.
She returned to Big Spring to work at Webb AFB until 1958 when she married Paul Baker, retired USAF. They lived in several places in the U.S. and overseas.
Lou Ann is survived by her husband; two daughters; five grandchildren; and three sisters, including Betty Ray (Nall) Coffee of Big Spring.
Carlene Elizabeth Barron, 73, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013, in Seabrook, Texas. She was born in Big Spring, Texas, March 1, 1940 and was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Alma Coleman.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Jerry Barron; son, Keith Barron; daughter, Sheryl Swinney and husband, Troy; two very special granddaughters, Ashlee Lucus and Leslee Hindman and husband, Matt; great-grandchildren, Grayden and Baye Biddix; brother, Jake Coleman and wife, Polly; and friends too numerous to count.
Bonnie M. Foster, 93, of Big Spring, died Monday, Sept. 16, 2013, in a local nursing home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with the Rev. Joey Bacon officiating. Interment will follow at Coahoma Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013, at the funeral home.
Bonnie was born June 12, 1920, in Howard County, Texas and married Leonard Foster in 1951 in Clovis, N.M.. He preceded her in death March 18, 1972.
Carlene Barron, 73, of Seabrook, formerly of Big Spring died Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Sept.19, 2013, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Carlene was born March 1, 1940, in Big Spring, Texas.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry Barron of Seabrook; one daughter, Sheryl Swinney; and one son, Keith Barron.
Bonnie Foster, 93, of Big Spring died Monday, Sept.16, 2013, in a local nursing home. Her services are pending with Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
Wayne Wilcox, 82, of Lake Thomas died Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, at his residence. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Gail Cemetery.
Wayne was born May 6, 1931, to Bethel and Bill Wilcox in Sayre, Okla. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving in the Korean War with the 17th Infantry. He was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge and United Nations Medal with two Bronze Stars. Wayne married Bettie Scoggin on June 2, 1973. She preceded him in death on April 26, 2012. Wayne had lived at Lake Thomas since 1979. He worked for CRMWD until retiring.
Daryll Levay Polk, 41, of Big Spring died Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, in Lubbock. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Myers & Smith Chapel with burial at Mount Olive Memorial Park.
He was born June 7, 1972, in Big Spring. He was a lifetime resident of Big Spring and was a member of Shiloh House of Praise.
He is survived by one son, Key Shaundre Polk of San Angelo; three sisters, Jessica Payne and Monika Polk, both of Abilene, and Roslyn Neal of Big Spring; and two brothers, Edmond Gossett and George Gossett of Odessa.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jessie Polk.
