February 20th
Jose Munoz, 91, of Big Spring, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at the Holy Trinity Catholic Parish. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Memorial Park.
A vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel.
He was born March 13, 1921, in Marfa, Texas and married Maria Refugia Martinez Dec. 31, 1943 in Big Spring. She preceded him in death Sept. 18, 1977.
Fernando Rodriguez, of Big Spring, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013 in a local hospital. His services are pending with Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.

Alvin Dudley Jenkins, 88, passed away Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at his residence in Big Spring, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at Trinity Memorial Park Chapel with Mike Couch of First Baptist Church officiating. Visitation will be held at Myers & Smith Funeral Home from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013.

Dudley Jenkins, 88, of Big Spring died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at his residence. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Gary W. Lawson 55, of Hobbs, N.M., passed away Feb. 14, 2013, in Hobbs. Gary was born July 12, 1957, in Colorado City, Texas, to Laddie C. and Dorothy J. Goodin Lawson.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, in the Griffin Funeral Home Chapel.
Gary married Cindy Smith on June 25, 1977, in Big Spring, Texas, and they came to Hobbs in March of 1987. Gary was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed hunting, fishing and going camping with family and friends. Gary worked for more than 30 years as a salesman in the oilfield industry.

Elgen Suazo, 20, of Forsan, died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, at Trinity Baptist Church with the Rev. Calvary Callender officiating.
A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel.
He was born Oct. 10, 1992, in Malaybalay City, the Philippines. Elgen moved with his family to Forsan, Texas in 2002.

Edgar Helwig, 97, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, at Parkview Nursing Home in Big Spring. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at the St. Lawrence Cemetery, St. Lawrence.
He was born Oct. 14, 1915, in Miles, Texas, to Edmond and Selma Muller Helwig. After serving his country in the United States Army during World War II, Edgar lived and farmed in St. Lawrence since 1947. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, gun sports and making fiddles.

Local law enforcement officials are inviting Crossroads citizens to tour the newly completed Troy Hogue Joint Law Enforcement Center on Friday following a cornerstone ceremony presented by the Staked Plains 598 Masonic Lodge.
The ceremony is expected to start at 2 p.m., according to Howard County Sheriff Stan Parker, with the open house set to follow.
