Opal Jean Magers, 80, of Big Spring died Saturday, May 4, 2013, at Kristi Lee Manor Nursing Home in Colorado City. The family will receive friends 7 p.m. until 9 p.m Friday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013, at Mt. Bethel Baptist Church. Officiating will be Pastor William T. Vaughn of Mt Bethel Baptist Church and Pastor Holston Banks of Shiloh House of Praise with burial at Trinity Memorial Park.
Billy Barber, 88, of Big Spring died Friday, May 10, 2013, at Lamun Lusk Sanchez Texas State Veterans Home. Services are pending at Myers & Smith Funeral Home.

Alvin L. Smith, 91, of Big Spring died Tuesday, May 7, 2013, in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Interment will follow at Gail Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, May 10, 2013, at the funeral home.
Alvin was born April 28, 1922, in O'Donnell, Texas, and married Opal Howell on Feb. 17, 1951, in Carlsbad, N.M. She preceded him in death Sept. 23, 1989.

Lyna Faye Horton, 89, of Waco, formerly of Big Spring died Wednesday, May 8, 2013, in a Waco nursing home. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 10, 2013, at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday, May 9, 2013, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.
She was born Feb. 11, 1924, in Birthright, Texas, and married James R. Horton on June 28, 1945, in Big Spring. He preceded her in death Nov. 19, 1987.
Jim Deel, 44, of Big Spring died Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at his residence. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013, at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park with the Rev. Jim Binnix, pastor of Midway Baptist Church, officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, May 10, 2013, at the funeral home.
Jim was born Oct. 14, 1968, in Big Spring to Darrell Deel and Wanda Welch Deel.

A funeral service for Bob T. Kilgore, 57, of Lamesa will be held Thursday, May 9, 2013, at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Lamesa with Pastors Daniel Armstrong and Gwen Aldridge officiating. Burial will follow at Lamesa Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 8, 2013, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Branon Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Branon Funeral Home.
Virnette Reid Fowler, 94, died Sunday, May 5, 2013, in Midland. The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday at Nalley-Pickle Welch Funeral Home, located at 3800 N. Big Spring in Midland. A private family service will take place on Friday at Trinity Memorial Park in Big Spring.
Martin "Bud" Norwood, 73, of Colorado City died Friday, May 3, 2013, in a Colorado City hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Monday, May 6, 2013, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with the Rev. Ken McIntosh officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
