Barbara Blackshear, 73, of Big Spring died Saturday, April 20, 2013, at her residence. The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity Memorial Park.
Barbara was born May 20, 1939, in Valley Head, W. Va. She graduated from Channing High School in 1957. Barbara married Bobby Blackshear on Dec. 30, 1958, in Channing. She was a homemaker and a member of College Baptist Church.
Manuel "Maco" Vega Sr., 76, of Big Spring, died Friday, April 19, 2013, in a local hospital. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at Mt. Olive Memorial Park.
A vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Monday, April 22, 2013, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel.
He was born July 23, 1936, in Big Spring, Texas. He married Margarita Sosa and she preceded him in death May 18, 2005.
Maco had lived in Big Spring or Odessa all of his life. He worked as a carpenter and plumber and enjoyed working in his yard. He was a Catholic.
Candy Lillie Andrews, 81, of North Richland Hills, formerly of Big Spring, died on Friday, April 19, 2013, in a Fort Worth hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 25, 2013, at the First Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.
Candy was born April 15, 1932, and married Raymond Andrews on Feb. 5, 1949, in San Angelo. He preceded her in death on Dec. 7, 2001.

Abner Shellman Sr., 68, of Big Spring died Saturday, April 20, 2013, at Midland Memorial Hospital. His services are pending at Myers & Smith Funeral Home.
Gail Earls, 75, of Big Spring, died Sunday, April 21, 2013 at her residence. Her services are pending with Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.

Manuel Vega Sr. 76, of Big Spring died Friday, April 19, 2013, in a local hospital. His services are pending with Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
Kenneth Jarrett Briden, 76, passed away peacefully while visiting family in Santiago, Chile. Son of Garland and Nelva Briden, he was born in 1936 in Breckenridge, Texas, and graduated from Big Spring High School in 1954, where he was inducted into the school’s Hall of Fame for his trumpet playing. Ken received an undergraduate degree in music from Texas Tech University in 1961. He later studied at UCLA and received a graduate degree in education from San Jose State University in 1971.

James Leslie Lloyd Jr., 87, of Big Spring died Thursday, April 18, 2013, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center. The family will receive friends Friday from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Memorial Park with the Rev. Mark Lindsey officiating.

Betty Lloyd-Mitchel, 82, of San Angelo, formerly of Big Spring died Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at her residence. The family will received friends Thursday from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Myers & Smith Chapel with Robert Allen Nelson, officiating. Burial will be at Cushing Cemetery in Cushing, Texas.
