Loyd Howard Hammon, 88, of Big Spring passed away Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014, at Lamun-Lusk-Sanchez Texas State Veterans Home. He was born Oct. 8, 1925, in Sand Springs, Okla., to William and Edith Hammon. Even as a young man, he worked hard to help support his family. He was also anxious to show support for his country and joined the Marines at the age of 17. During World War II, he fought in the Pacific and was honorably discharged in August 1945. He then moved to Odessa, Texas, to work with his father.
Gary Tate, 89, of Midland died Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014. Visitation will be held at the funeral home, Sunday, March 2, 2014, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 3, 2014, at Golf Course Road Church of Christ.
Survivors include wife, Connie; sons, Jerry Tate and Steve Tate; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Nancy Kimble, 76, of Big Spring, died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014, in a local nursing home. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 3, 2014, at the Mt. Olive Memorial Park Chapel with the Reverend Ulis Johnson officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, March 2, 2014, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.
She was born Jan. 29, 1938, in Oakhurst, Texas and married Theo Kimble in October 1956 in Galveston, Texas. He preceded her in death May 30, 1981.
William " Bill " Lyons, 61, of Houston, Texas, died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, in Houston after a battle with cancer. Memorial services will be held in Houston on March 2, 2014.
He was born March 28, 1952, to Victoria Masloff Lyons and Edward C. Lyons.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Lyons of Houston; two brothers, John Lyons and wife, Andrea, of Big Spring and Richard Lyons of California; one sister, Helen Gibson and husband, John, of Corpus Christi, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
